The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is introducing an awards program to honour property managers who show leadership in environmental performance, including greenhouse gas emissions, water and waste management.
The focus of this year’s Leadership in Environmental Advancement Program (LEAP) is on energy conservation, and will recognize the 10 most energy efficient buildings within the HOOPP portfolio. HOOPP says the awards represent a first step toward wider public disclosure about energy and carbon efficiency of Canadian buildings.
The top-performing buildings, which will be named tonight at an event in Toronto, will be awarded energy and carbon performance certificates.
