OMERS Ventures hires Kimsa

OMERS Ventures, the venture capital investment arm of OMERS, has announced that Kevin Kimsa is joining its team as venture partner.

In this role, he will support both early- and later-stage growth portfolio companies in the North American market, with a focus on the technology, media and telecommunications sectors.

“As an accomplished entrepreneur, Kevin has a deep hands-on understanding of what it takes to build and operate great companies,” says John Ruffolo, CEO of OMERS Ventures.

Kimsa has spent more than 20 years in operational management positions at growth companies. This includes his continuing role as executive chair of AudienceView Ticketing, a company he co-founded in 2002, which provides a live event e-commerce platform serving 170 clients in 15 countries.

His past successes include co-founding Solect Technology Group, an IP billing software firm acquired by Amdocs in 2000 for US$1.2 billion. Kimsa also founded software firm Casero, which was acquired by Radialpoint in 2009.

Kimsa is a 2002 recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.
