The Toronto Transit Commission Pension Plan board is appointing Andy Greene as chief investment officer and James Clarkson as chief financial officer and treasurer.
As CIO, Greene will be responsible for overseeing the defined benefit pension plan’s $7.8 billion investment portfolio. He joined the plan as its managing director of investments in 2017. In the role, he was responsible for establishing and developing the plan’s internal investment team.
Greene is the chair of the investment committee for the United Church of Canada Pension Plan. He was previously a consultant at the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, director of public market investments at the OPSEU Pension Trust, vice-president at Northern Trust Corp. and associate director of investments at the University of Wisconsin Foundation.

As CFO, Clarkson will be responsible for the financial functions of the TTC plan, including corporate finance, investment administration and investment and regulatory compliance.
Clarkson joined the organization in 2012 as treasurer and managing director of finance. He played a key role in managing the pension plan’s transition from a department within the TTC to an independent organization, according to a press release.
Previously, he was finance manager for pension investments at Kraft Foods Canada and finance manager for corporate benefits at Great-West Lifeco.
