As an assistant professor in management at Dalhousie University’s Rowe School of Business, Heidi Weigand focuses on leadership development, systemic discrimination and resiliency. As a member of the Safe Assured international research consortium, she has a specific interest in health care and diversity. Prior to her current role, Weigand worked for more than 10 years with IBM Canada and Xerox Corp. in senior marketing positions across North America. She’s worked with First Nation communities for more than 18 years, focusing on two critical areas of social justice and sustainability: murdered and missing women, girls, boys and two-spirited persons; and Indigenous protected and conserved areas. Weigand is a certified lean six sigma black-belt and has served on a variety of boards. She’s often invited to speak on the topics of leadership and developing a contagious, innovative mindset in others.
