Global consulting firm Mercer has announced changes in its senior management, naming Andrew Kirton to the role of global chief investment officer. Prior to the promotion, Kirton had been the global head of investment consulting.

David Goldenberg, formerly general council, has been named global head of solutions management. A new general council will be named in the coming weeks.

Both Goldenberg and Kirton will report to Phil de Cristo, who remains president and group executive of investments.

Asghar Alam, former U.S. regional business leader for Mercer’s retirement, risk and finance operations, has been promoted to Kirton’s previous role. Jacques Goulet, currently the regional business leader for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will succeed Alam.

“Mercer is committed to demonstrating global leadership in investment intellectual capital, manager research and multi-manager investment solutions, and to integrate the firm’s expertise to solve our clients’ most pressing issues,” said M. Michele Burns, chair and CEO of Mercer.
