Manulife Financial has completed a sale in Taiwan and a purchase in Malaysia.
Its subsidiary has completed the previously announced transaction to sell its life insurance business in Taiwan to CTBC Life Insurance Co. for an undisclosed amount.
Manulife remains committed to its asset management operation in Taiwan, which is managed separately and is not impacted by the transaction.
Separately, it has completed the acquisition of MAAKL Mutual Bhd after receiving regulatory approval.
“We are very pleased to have completed the acquisition of MAAKL,” says Manulife Holdings Berhad Group CEO Mark O’Dell. “This greatly enhances Manulife’s business and presence here in Malaysia, complementing our wealth management growth strategy.”
