Melissa Kim, medical advisor, medical lead, Boehringer-Ingelheim
Melissa Kim holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and a doctoral degree from McMaster University. Her expertise in viral clinical diagnostic test development was showcased during her time at the Hospital for Sick Children, where she was part of a small team that identified SARS as a coronavirus during the Toronto outbreak in 2003.
With more than 13 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Kim honed her skills in various areas, including submissions, analytical safety testing and medical affairs. For the past six years, she has been focusing on medical affairs, contributing her knowledge and expertise to the field, in a variety of therapeutic areas. Currently, Kim serves as a medical advisor and the medical lead for spesolimab (SPEVIGO®) in Canada at Boehringer Ingelheim. In this role, she’s responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of medical strategies for this innovative treatment.
