Amy Chang, managing director, head of active global fundamental, British Columbia Investment Management Corp.
Amy Chang serves as the lead portfolio manager of the internal global fundamental portfolio. She brings over 19 years of combined experience in the financial services industry to BCI including nine years on the sell-side and the remainder in investment management with BCI.
She joined BCI in 2014 as a senior associate portfolio manager focused on Canadian public markets focused on the energy infrastructure, power and utilities sectors and is a founding member to develop the global fundamental strategy. Chang was appointed as lead portfolio manager (director) for global fundamental in April 2021, taking over the responsibilities and management of the fund.
She is an active member of several fundamental portfolio investment committees and cross-departmental ESG working group. She also helped build the foundation of BCI’s diversity and inclusion council including student engagement leadership in partnership with Women in Capital Markets.
Prior to BCI, Chang worked in capital markets as an oil & gas research analyst at various brokers based in Calgary, including National Bank, Canaccord Genuity and CIBC World Markets. She obtained the chartered financial analyst and CIPM designation and graduated from the University of Calgary with a bachelor of commerce degree.
