Kakan is responsible for monitoring legislative impacts that include the Employment Standards Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the National Mental Health Guidelines and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. His past experience has involved insurance regulatory requirements, funding arrangements, SOX compliance, pension expense accounting (GAAP and IFRS) and underwriting agreements.
