AIMCo appoints three new board members

Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) has appointed three new members to its board of directors: J. Richard Bird, John T. Ferguson and Robert L. “Jay” Vivian Jr.

“The appointment of Messrs. Bird, Ferguson and Vivian adds significant acumen to the AIMCo board, says AIMCo chair Charles Baillie. “Governing the organization on strong commercial principles supports our clients in meeting their objectives, and the addition of our new directors ensures we continue to deliver that mandate.”

J. Richard Bird is executive vice-president, chief financial officer and corporate development of Enbridge, responsible for all financial affairs of the company and corporate planning, mergers, acquisitions and corporate development.

John T. Ferguson is the founder and chairman of the board of Princeton Developments and Princeton Ventures. He is also chairman of the board of Suncor Energy, chairman of the advisory board of the Peter Lougheed Leadership Initiative and a director of Fountain Tire and Strategy Summit.

Robert L. “Jay” Vivian Jr. is the former managing director of the IBM retirement funds. He’s also on the board of directors, investment committee, and audit and oversight committee of ICMA-RC, and is the founding chair of the investment committee of the Committee on Investment of Employee Benefit Assets.
