The Association of Professors of the University of Ottawa and the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations are joining the University Pension Plan, as of April 30, 2024.

Since its inception in July 2021, the UPP has seen a number of plan sponsors join the plan, beginning with the University of Toronto Faculty Association, the University of Guelph Faculty Association and the Queen’s University Faculty Association. In 2022, Trent University also joined the plan, followed by Trent University support workers represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union in 2023.

“We are thrilled to welcome APUO and OCUFA as UPP’s newest members,” said Barbara Zvan, the UPP’s president and chief executive officer, in a press release. “We’re grateful for the ongoing efforts of UPP’s joint sponsors, our partners at OCUFA and APUO and all those across UPP who are dedicated to delivering on our vision of providing secure, lifelong retirement income for the university sector.”
