Guloien named chairman of CLHIA

The members of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) have elected Donald Guloien, president and CEO of Manulife Financial, as chairman.

Before being appointed to his current role at Manulife in 2009, Guloien served as chief investment officer responsible for its worldwide investment operations.

A 33-year company veteran, he is also a member of the board of directors and chair of the company’s executive committee.

Guloien was named International Business Executive of the Year in 2012 by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and is a recipient of the Arbor Award for his contributions to the University of Toronto.
