Having a best friend at work can be good for you.
LinkedIn’s Relationships @Work study shows that nearly half of workers worldwide believe that having a friend at work is important to their overall happiness.
For those between the ages of 18 and 24, friendships in the workplace make them feel happy (57%), motivated (50%) and productive (37%).
And millennials are more likely to share (or overshare) personal details with their co-workers.
Sixty-seven percent of millennials are comfortable talking about information such as salaries, relationships or family issues with their work colleagues compared with just one-third of baby boomers.
Also, 28% millennials have sent a text to their manager outside of work hours about a non-work related issue, compared with just 10% of baby boomers.
There were 11,500 workers from 14 different countries who participated in the survey.
