MPP appoints executive director

Judith Payne has been appointed to the newly created position of executive director of the Municipal Pension Plan.

“Judy brings a wealth of knowledge about our roots, having been involved when the plan was put into joint trusteeship and as the director of client services for the plan for the past five years,” says Richard Taylor, chair of the Municipal Pension Board of Trustees. “She brings exciting ideas about our future.”

Payne will implement elements of the governance revitalization approved by the board in the last year, which will continue its leadership on pension plan governance practices.

She holds an LLB and has held management positions for more than 15 years in policy and plan administration within the BC Pension Corp.

Payne formally starts her new duties on Aug. 18, 2014.

The Municipal Pension Plan is the largest plan in B.C. and the sixth largest plan in Canada with $38 billion in assets.
