According to the 2011 Salary Forecasts report by the Quebec Employers Council, Quebec employers are expected to be awarded salary increases averaging 2.7% next year.

“In a context of worldwide competition, with access to high-quality labour at competitive cost being a priority, it is essential for employers to benefit from the best possible conditions—especially regarding payroll taxes—to create wealth and thus provide remuneration that is attractive for their employees,” stated Yves-Thomas Dorval, president of the Quebec Employers Council.

In the first edition of its Report Card on Quebec Prosperity, released in August, the Council gave Quebec a C when reviewing the province’s access to available labour of high quality at competitive cost.
