Salary Range: $46.79 per hour - $58.48 per hour

The Benefit Consultant is the subject matter expert and plays a crucial role in managing group health, life and dental insurance programs, and long-term disability, with a focus on designing and managing the corporate employee benefits programs (across all unionized and non-union employee groups). Working alongside key London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) stakeholders, the Consultant supports creation, implementation and management of benefit packages that attract and retain employees, while balancing costs and ensuring compliance with regulations, and making recommendations for cost sharing between employee and employer premiums. Reporting directly to the Manager, Occupational Health and Employee Services, the Benefits Consultant oversees the development and maintenance of effective and efficient systems, processes, and procedures for all benefit needs at LHSC, and supports benefit grievance preparation, as well as negotiations and collective bargaining. This position is also responsible for overseeing/informally leading any significant projects related to the administration of a corporate benefit program (examples include transition of benefits providers, market analysis of benchmark comparator benefit offerings and subsequent redesign of benefits offering).

Qualifications Snapshot:

Education & Certifications: Diploma in HR, Business, or Finance (Bachelor’s preferred); CEBS or CHRP/CHRL an asset.

Experience: 5+ years in benefits administration with expertise in health and welfare plans.

Skills: Consulting, analytics, communication, and customer service.

Knowledge: Employment legislation, collective agreements, HR policies, and hospital procedures.
