Former CFL players missing pensions: Report

The Canadian Football League Players’ Association (CFLPA) pension plan is looking for hundreds of missing members.

The Ottawa Citizen reports that nearly 1,200 plan members are eligible to receive early payouts at age 50 or full benefits at 60.

“We are finding a couple of hundred a year, but we are losing the same number,” says CFLPA secretary Bayne Norrie.

Former players who think they are eligible to receive pension benefits (or those who know where they can be found) are asked to contact the plan’s administrator, Manulife, at 1-888-747-4283 or cflpa@manulife.com.
