Prior to joining CPPIB, he was managing director, co-head of leveraged finance origination and execution for Barclays Capital in New York. Prior to that, Jenkins spent more than 11 years at Goldman Sachs in senior positions within fixed income and financing groups in New York. He also held senior finance roles at Laidlaw.

And Pierre Lavallée will take on a new role as senior managing director and global head of investment partnerships. He will continue in his current role as senior managing director and chief talent officer until a successor is appointed. Prior to joining CPPIB in 2012, he was the executive vice-president of Reitmans (Canada). Before joining Reitmans, Lavallée spent more than 18 years with Bain & Company where he led the firm’s Canadian practice in retail, telecom and private equity. He also spent five years with the Government of Canada as a trade commissioner in the Department of External Affairs and International Trade.

“Today’s appointments reflect CPPIB’s deep internal capabilities and bench strength,” says CPPIB president and CEO Mark Wiseman. “I look forward to working closely with Mark, Pierre and the rest of the CPPIB team through a seamless transition, while continuing to implement our multi-year global business plan to achieve maximum risk-adjusted returns over the long term.”
