Members of Acadia University’s pension plan have voted in favour of transferring into the Public Service Superannuation Plan (PSSP).
This vote is the first step in the process of transferring the Acadia pension plan into the PSSP.
Further detailed discussions between the parties are needed and legislation will be required before the transfer is finalized.
The Public Service Superannuation Plan Trustee Inc.’s guiding principles throughout these discussions have been that the transfer must be beneficial to the long-term sustainability of the PSSP and cost neutral to the PSSP and its members.
The PSPP says all analysis of the Acadia University pension plan transfer has met these conditions.
