SHEPP appoints CIO

The Saskatchewan Healthcare Employees’ Pension Plan (SHEPP) has appointed Janet Julé as its chief investment officer (CIO), effective Aug. 1.

The CIO role is a new position to SHEPP, created as a result of a change in management structure which saw the growing investments area branch off from finance.

“Janet is a trusted advisor to SHEPP’s board of trustees and senior management team, and her solid understanding of the plan’s funding policy and the board’s investment philosophy will put us in good stead as we continue to serve the best interests of our members,” says Alison McKay, SHEPP’s CEO. “Her experience with SHEPP and her knowledge of the plan span decades.”

Prior to joining SHEPP, Julé was a partner with Aon Hewitt and served as SHEPP’s investment consultant for more 20 years. She brings to SHEPP a wealth of senior-level consulting experience working with public and private sector boards across many industries.
