The maker of Soliris, which treats rare blood diseases, is suing Canada’s drug price watchdog for attempting to bring down the drug’s cost, CBC reports.
Twelve months of Soliris treatment costs about $669,000 in the U.S. and $700,000 in Canada, making it the most expensive drug in the world.

Canada’s Patented Medicine Prices Review Board says this cost is excessive, but Alexion Pharmaceuticals argues the Canadian government doesn’t have the authority to bring the price down in Canada.
