Manulife has appointed Linda Mantia as senior executive vice-president and chief operating officer, effective as of October 3, 2016.
She replaces Paul Rooney, who will stay with the company until the end of December.

In her new role, Mantia will define corporate strategy and policies, and will oversee the company’s innovation portfolio.
Mantia most recently served as executive vice-president of digital, payments and cards at the Royal Bank of Canada, and previously worked at McKinsey & Co. and as a corporate securities lawyer at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. She holds a law degree from Queen’s Law School in Kingston, Ont.
