The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan has appointed Ziad Hindo as its new chief investment officer.
Since joining Ontario Teachers’ in 2000, Hindo has been responsible for the investments division and overall investment portfolio, most recently in the capital markets department. In the new role, he’ll report directly to the plan’s president and chief executive officer, Ron Mock, who has been filling in as interim chief investment officer since Bjarne Graven Larsen returned to Denmark.

In another executive change, Jo Taylor is taking on a new role as executive managing director of global development. Taylor, who has managed the plan’s international investment operations out of London, England, and Hong Kong, will be responsible for elevating the plan’s global mindset, according to a press release. She has been at Ontario Teachers’ since 2012 and will be relocating to Toronto from London for the role.
“These appointments clearly demonstrate the strength of our pool of talent,” said Mock in the release.
“Supported by their world-class teams, I am confident that Ziad and Jo will be very successful in advancing our investment strategy using a total fund approach and global mindset.”
