Growing demand for Mercer’s responsible investment (RI) consulting services has led to the appointment of six new specialists, including two in Canada.

Jordan Berger joins the team in Toronto as head of RI for this country. He has spent the last 10 years working with the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) where he worked as supervisor of strategic planning, policy development, and benefits.

And Kelly Gauthier joins the Toronto team as an associate. She spent four years as a management consultant and worked for CARE Enterprise Partners in social venture capital.

“This growth reflects the extent to which responsible investment is evolving—from a niche area to one of our core lines of business,” says Jane Ambachtsheer, Mercer’s global head of RI. “This is due to an increasing number of institutional investors around the world seeking advice on how to better incorporate environmental, social and governance factors into their investment processes.”

The RI team has also added members in Melbourne, Tokyo, London and Stockholm.
