The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is appointing Mark Evans as a director for a three-year term.

Evans spent 15 years with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. until 1999, before working with various firms as an investor in the technology sector. He’s currently working with several early stage tech companies.

“With his appointment and assistance, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board will continue its excellent work of building a diversified portfolio of assets that helps ensure the long-term sustainability of the Canada Pension Plan,” said Finance Minister Bill Morneau, in a statement.

The CPPIB’s directors are selected by the federal government in consultation with participating provincial governments.
