Canadian employers expect a favorable hiring climate for the fourth quarter of 2007, according to a survey.

The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey reveals that 25% of employers plan to increase their payrolls in the next three months, 9% expect cutbacks, 64% expect no changes and 2% are unsure.

“Employers are telling us that over the next three months they will continue adding to their payrolls at a slightly better rate than the previous quarter,” says Lori Rogers, Manpower Canada’s VP of operations. “The positive hiring outlooks in Western and Atlantic Canada are ahead of the national forecast,”

Hiring intentions are strongest in the mining, construction, finance, insurance and real estate sectors.

More than 1,700 employers participated in the survey.
