Facing a tight labour market in Western Canada, Priszm Income Fund is looking for workers from abroad.

“Under a federally sponsored program, we have applied to bring in foreign workers to support Priszm’s operations in both B.C. and Alberta,” said Jeff O’Neill, president and chief operating officer, during a conference call earlier today.

The entire quick-service restaurant sector is facing staffing difficulties in the West and Priszm has hired an immigration specialist to assist in the application process and hopes to resolve the employment issue in the next couple of months.

The company has a majority interest in Priszm LP, which owns and operates 482 KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Long John Silver’s restaurants in seven provinces.
