Jim Hall is stepping down as co-manager of Mawer Investment Management Ltd.’s Canadian and global equity strategies to focus his full attention on his responsibilities as chair of the firm’s board of directors, effective Jan 1. 2021.
Paul Moroz, who currently co-manages the global equity strategy alongside Hall, in addition to his role as chief investment officer, will head up the strategy alone once Hall makes the transition. Meanwhile, Vijay Viswanathan, Mawer’s director of research, will lead the Canadian equity strategy by himself.

In his role as chair, Hall will continue to be responsible for overseeing the firm’s strategy and execution, acting as leader of its investment risk management process. With more than 20 years at Mawer, he was the firm’s CIO from 2004 to 2018.
