CIBC Mellon and RBC Dexia win accolades

CIBC Mellon and RBC Dexia have both been awarded “top-rated” status in Global Custodian magazine’s Agent Banks in Major Markets survey. RBC Dexia was top-rated in all three client segments (leading, cross-border/non-affiliated and domestic), while CIBC Mellon won top-rated status in the leading and domestic categories.

The annual survey, currently in its 22nd year, measures the quality of services that custodians provide to their clients.

RBC Dexia was the only Canadian custodian to achieve top-rated status in all three categories. The company has won top-rated status in the leading clients segment since its introduction and top-rated status for domestic services in Canada since RBC Dexia’s inception in 2006.

CIBC Mellon has consistently earned top-rated status since the category’s creation in 2007.

CIBC Mellon also received accolades from Global Finance magazine. The firm’s Global Securities Services Company has been named the best sub-custodian in Canada for the fifth consecutive year in the publication’s 2011 World’s Best Sub-Custodians survey. The win makes CIBC Mellon the only firm to be named the best sub-custodian in Canada for five years in a row since the survey began in 2003.

Global Finance’s survey, now in its eighth year, recognizes institutions that provide the best custody services in local markets and regions to global clients. The survey solicits feedback from Global Finance editors, reporters and other expert sources to assess various categories, including customer relations, service quality, pricing, technology platforms and knowledge of local regulations and practices.
