New association for bond investors

The newly established Canadian Bond Investors’ Association (CBIA) will hold its inaugural meeting on Nov. 29, 2011, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

The association has been formed to provide a discussion forum and voice for fixed income investors in Canada.

Membership is open to fixed income institutional investors such as pension funds, insurance companies and independent investment counsels.

“The bond investor community needs an independent voice on matters in the Canadian fixed income marketplace,” says Joe Morin, founding board chair of the CBIA. “The legitimate interests of bond holders are often overlooked by other bond market participants.”

In addition to being an advocate for change in the Canadian bond market, the CBIA will be a source of market information and expertise for fixed income investors.
