People Corp. is acquiring British Columbia-based Benefits by Design Inc.
Benefits by Design is a benefits provider focused on the small-to-medium-sized segment of the Canadian market, specializing in designing, implementing and maintaining employee benefit solutions for their clients, according to a press release. In December, People Corp. was acquired by Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s merchant banking division for an estimated total equity value of $1.13 billion.

“People Corp. and [Benefits by Design] are both organizations that are committed to improving the lives of working Canadians — including their physical, mental and financial well-being — by providing a broad suite of solutions through a vast national network of consulting teams and advisor partners,” said Laurie Goldberg, chief executive officer of People Corp., in the release. “[Benefits by Design] joining People Corp. brings additional scale and capability by significantly expanding our breadth of distribution and broadening our suite of client solutions.”
