Sun Life Financial has announced that Kony Solutions will be the platform for its new mobile application, My Sun Life. The app allows group pension and benefits plan members to submit claims, check plan balances and monitor their retirement savings.
Plan members with an iPhone or BlackBerry can download the free app directly from each manufacturer’s application marketplace. The app allows users to:
- Submit medical and dental claims;
- View previously submitted claims;
- Access drug and travel coverage card information;
- View retirement savings; and
- Access financial planning tools to assist with ongoing savings efforts.
“We expect this app to contribute to our overall growth in our group benefits e-claims which have so far totalled 1.7 million, up 73% in the first three quarters of this year over the comparable period in 2010,” said Alice Thomas, vice-president, digital, CRM, contact center application services for Sun Life Financial.
The Kony platform is based on a single code base from which applications can be optimized for different channels, including smartphones, mobile Web browsers, tablets, and SMS text messaging. Kony also offers an integrated security and social media package and multi-language character sets to support mobile offerings on a global scale.
