The buyout unit of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, OMERS Capital Partners, might team up with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in its potential bid for BCE, according to a report.

Chief Executive Officer Paul Renaud tells Bloomberg News that OMERS Capital Partners has had discussions and is interested in taking part in an offer, but hasn’t made a decision as of yet.

Earlier this week, Teachers’ said it may lead its own consortium to buy the telecom firm.

, BCE announced it was in discussions to be acquired by a consortium that includes the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.
