Some private equity investments make a good fit for pension funds, said Howard E. Johnson, president of Veracap Corporate Finance Ltd., earlier today.

Speaking to the Economic Club of Toronto this morning, he said unlike private equity firms, pension funds are looking for strong, stable returns over a long period of time.

“Pension funds are very large, they create an interesting dynamic,” he said, adding that a lot of so-called “dull” industries are very exciting for pension funds because of the consistent returns they provide.
