The Women’s Executive Network, or WXN, has announced Canada’s most powerful women top 100 award winners and Patrice Walsh-Watson of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is on the list.
The awards honour women who advocate for diversity in the workplace and inspire the next generation of leaders.
“I’m truly honoured to be joining this list of incredible women named as WXN’s Top 100 female leaders for 2019,” said Patrice Walch-Watson, senior managing director, general counsel and corporate secretary of the CPPIB, in a statement emailed to the Canadian Investment Review. “Embracing inclusion is a cornerstone of CPPIB’s strategy and a consistent contributor to our success as a global investor.”
As part of the announcement, 10 women were inducted into the WXN Top 100 hall of fame. The new members include Heather Munroe-Blum, chairperson of the CPPIB’s board of directors.
“I am honoured to be named to the WXN hall of fame,” said Munroe-Blum in the emailed statement. “This prestigious distinction represents, most of all, the great institutions I’ve been privileged to serve and the generations of dedicated colleagues and volunteers I have had the good fortune to serve with.
