MSCI Inc. is launching 15 new fixed income indexes, with factor investing and ESG at their core.
This will include two new indexes relating to environmental, social and governance, 12 indexes capturing different factors in a fixed income context and a single issuance weighted index called the MSCI USD investment grade corporate bond index.
“We are pleased to bring next generation fixed income indexes to market,” said Jana Haines, head of index products for the Americas, at MSCI, in a press release. “Investors are increasingly demanding ESG integration across all asset classes and looking to factors – such as carry, quality, value, size and risk – to more precisely define how they can better identify, measure and manage risk and return in their portfolios.”
