Coming from a first-generation immigrant family, growing up as a visible minority in rural southwestern Ontario and being a proud member of the 2SLGTBQIA+ community, Sunil Hirjee has a passion for issues surrounding diversity, equity and inclusivity.
In his current role at SSQ Insurance/Beneva, Hirjee is actively responsible for increasing the visibility and growth of the organization through the acquisition and retention of new and existing business partners. Hirjee has been in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. As a group insurance expert, he brings a very strong understanding of the diverse needs of organizations in a wide variety of sectors.
Hirjee studied applied mathematics at the University of Toronto prior to obtaining both group benefits associate (GBA) and retirement plans associate (RPA) designations. His formal education combined with his extensive experience in the benefits industry have given him a unique perspective and level of expertise.
