OASSIS — Benefits Administrator

Location: Toronto - airport area

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 per annum

To provide day-to-day support and service for OASSIS clients and be responsible for service and administration transactions, coverage and claim inquiries in accordance with established plan provisions and service agreements with our partners. The Benefits Administrator will provide a high level of customer service for OASSIS clients and establish exceptional working relationships with both clients and OASSIS partners.

A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for off-site meetings.

To fulfill this role, the Benefits Administrator will provide a friendly and professional approach in all forms of communication to the client. The Benefits Administrator will co-ordinate all administrative and service functions for an assigned client base including:

  • Accurate maintenance of member eligibility, documentation and agency records
  • Provide training and answer all questions related to the administration system
  • Processing of evidence of insurability files
  • Distribution of enrolment packages for new members
  • Process life claims
  • Resolving complex client, employee and insurer inquiries with respect to benefits eligibility, claims issues, form completion etc.
  • Be conversant with all pooled and custom plan options and eligibility criteria
  • Reviewing progress of work against established timelines to ensure deadlines are met and informing the Director of Administration of any problems or delays
  • Follow up with agencies that are delinquent with their accounts
  • Keeping track of new sales and terminations
  • Meeting with current and new clients when requested, including employee information sessions and face to face meetings with clients
  • Completing call reports and lapse reports when necessary
  • Provide back up support to other Benefits Administrators when they are on vacation, sick leave, etc.
  • Initiate client meetings to strengthen customer service and client relations.
  • Attend and participate in external meetings and presentations
  • Be accountable for prompt response times (24 hours)
  • Able to multitask and prioritize workloads
  • Anticipate and recommend solutions based on the needs of the client
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Administration or Executive Director when appropriate

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience in the benefits field
  • Computer literate and proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good at time management and working independently
  • Dedicated to providing a high level of customer service
  • Willingness to learn and be adaptable
  • Work well in a team environment
