Mary Forhan is an associate professor and chair of the department of occupational science and occupational therapy at the University of Toronto. She’s a health researcher who applies occupational and rehabilitation science lenses to research focused on bariatric care and rehabilitation. Her goals are to reduce the disability experienced by people living with obesity, which will improve the quality of care that patients with obesity receive and reduce the burden of obesity on the health-care system. Forhan is the scientific director of Obesity Canada and vice-president of the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy’s university programs. She has worked clinically as an occupational therapist for 15 years.
