Sherry Hnatyshyn-Webster, managing director, Carepath
As managing director of Carepath, part of the larger national organization Bayshore HealthCare Ltd., Sherry Hnatyshyn-Webster has more than 25 years of progressive experience in the nursing field. After years of hospital nursing, she joined Bayshore in 1998 as a palliative visiting nurse. Since then, she’s assumed several roles as a key senior leader of Bayshore, including national program director for specialty pharmaceutical infusion clinic development, director of clinical management/nursing division and area director for six home care branches across Ontario. Hnatyshyn-Webster’s strong history of delivering growth and operational excellence, as well as her extensive business knowledge and enthusiasm, made her a natural choice to manage Carepath, which was acquired by Bayshore in May 2015. Under her leadership, Carepath expanded its foundational cancer navigation program to include chronic disease management, mental health and elder-care programs. Hnatyshyn-Webster was instrumental in the development of CareChart Digital Health's oncology program, which provides cancer patients who are undergoing treatment with access to an after-hours symptom management, virtual triage program resourced with specialized oncology registered nurses who teach patients to self-manage their symptoms at home when possible. CareChart has reduced health system challenges, improved health outcomes for patients with timely access to care and reduced unnecessary emergency room visits. Carepath is currently providing this service to the patients of 74 Ontario cancer centres and cancer programs and is also currently providing this service in Quebec.
