Wendy Mizuno, senior vice-president, total rewards, Loblaw Companies Ltd.

Wendy Mizuno leads the total rewards team at Loblaw Group of Companies to support more than 200,000 colleagues. The mandate of the total rewards team is to provide strategic, financial and technical expertise on all employee and executive compensation and benefits programs to Loblaw Companies Ltd. and its Canadian and U.S. operating companies, including the company-owned companies like Joe Fresh and Shoppers Drug Mart and franchise businesses. The team also provides advisory support services to its affiliate companies: George Weston Ltd., Choice Properties REIT, Wittington Investments and Holt Renfrew & Co. Ltd.

The team is comprised of pension and benefits actuaries, investment experts and compensation professionals. Its vision is to bring innovation and create health and wealth solutions that support the diverse needs of colleagues and bring value to the businesses. The team works in partnership with other teams and leaders across the group of companies focusing on colleague experience, business enablement and execution and financial and risk management of programs.

Prior to joining Loblaw, Mizuno worked in professional services as a senior advisor to major global and national organizations in various industries and jointly sponsored pension trusts. She worked with board members, human resources and finance leaders, consulting on strategy and risk management of their pension, savings and other total rewards programs.

Outside of work, Mizuno has a passion for music, design and all sports, especially the Toronto Raptors (even during their re-build phase). She’s from Winnipeg, lived in Vancouver and has settled in Toronto with her spouse David, her mom and two mini labradoodles named Quincy and Buster.
