As the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan’s chief technology officer, Alpesh Sethia is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the information technology team, while delivering high-value technology solutions to the organization and its members.

With more than 20 years of professional experience in technology, Sethia’s expertise is deeply rooted in innovation, technology architecture and software development. He has built, inspired and enhanced high-performing technology teams, while also successfully leading many critical technology initiatives, including the modernization of exchange trading, market data and service platforms.

Prior to joining the HOOPP in 2023, Sethia served as the CTO at TMX Group Inc., a multi-asset class exchange company. In that role, he managed enterprise technology functions, including architecture, innovation, software development, quality assurance, enterprise data and analytics, project management and technology operations.

Sethia has a bachelor of engineering degree in software engineering from Concordia University as well as the Canadian Securities Course designation.
