Martin Bélanger, director of investments, Western University

Martin Bélanger is the director of investments at Western University, where he oversees the university’s retirement plans and operating and endowment fund. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry and has been with the university since 2006. His responsibilities include monitoring external investment managers, implementing governance policies, developing asset allocation and risk management strategies and reporting to the university’s governing bodies. He holds a master's degree in finance from HEC Montreal and is a chartered financial analyst, a chartered alternative investment analyst, a certified financial planner and is a fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.
