The CEO of Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) has announced his intention to retire from his role.
“A critical part of the CEO’s job is to effectively pass the torch to the next generation of leadership,” Leo de Bever says. “I am confident that AIMCo is very well positioned for continued success.”
The organization will begin a search process for its next CEO to ensure a new leader is in place to guide the organization into the next phase of its evolution.
He will continue as CEO while the search process is undertaken. AIMCo intends to undertake a comprehensive and diligent process, and will take the full time necessary to identify and secure its next CEO.
Following the transition, it’s expected that de Bever will continue to contribute to AIMCo by way of board representation on a number of portfolio companies and may participate with or advise AIMCo on other initiatives.
