Ambachtsheer receives honours

Jane Ambachtsheer, global head of Mercer’s responsible investment business, has been recognized in the 2015 Clean50, an annual award that recognizes those who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada.

She was also selected to join Canada’s Clean16, representing the top nominee in the financial services category.

“The 2015 Clean16 are truly the leaders of the leaders in sustainability in Canada,” says Gavin Pitchford, chief talent officer at Delta Management Group, which manages the Clean50 initiative. “To be selected from amongst such a strong group of peers is truly a testament to the contribution these individuals have made to helping make living well in Canada more sustainable for all Canadians.”

In order to determine honourees, Delta carefully considers actual measurable accomplishments, demonstrated innovation, collaboration with other organizations and the power of the honouree’s contribution to inspire other Canadians to take similar action.

Ambachtsheer established Mercer’s global responsible investment team in 2004, which advises investors around the world on achieving long-term, sustainable investment outcomes. And she was a consultant to the United Nations in developing the Principles for Responsible Investment, which have now been supported by more than 1,200 investors, representing $45 trillion in assets.
