BlackRock shuffles management

BlackRock is making changes to its senior management team, according to an internal memo.

Rob Goldstein, currently global head of institutional client business and BlackRock Solutions, is set to become chief operating officer in June.

He will replace Charlie Hallac, who will become co-president of the firm.

Mark McCombe, currently the chair of BlackRock Asia Pacific, will become head of institutional client business and chair of BlackRock Alternative Investors.

Other management changes include the following:

  • Rich Kushel, currently deputy chief operating officer, will become chief product officer;
  • Ryan Stork, global head of the Aladdin business within BlackRock Solutions, will become head of BlackRock Asia Pacific;
  • Ken Wilson, who has served as chairman of BlackRock Alternative Investors since its creation, will become chairman of Alpha Strategies;
  • Patrick Olson, who is global head of strategy and planning, will become chief operating officer of Europe, the Middle East and Africa;
  • Salim Ramji, a senior partner at McKinsey & Company, will join the firm later this month as global head of corporate strategy;
  • Sudhir Nair, currently head of business development and implementations and delivery for the Aladdin business, will become global head of the Aladdin institutional business; and
  • Quintin Price, global head of alpha strategies, will continue in this role and move to New York from London.

CEO Laurence Fink and president Robert Kapito will stay in their current roles.
