Cook-Bennett to chair ICD

The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) has appointed Gail Cook-Bennett as chair-elect of its board.

She will replace Donna Soble Kaufman, who will step down from her role at the annual general meeting on Oct. 29, following 10 years of service to the ICD board, four of which were spent as chair.

Cook-Bennett has served on many corporate, Crown and not-for-profit boards over the last 36 years. She is the immediate past chair of the board of Manulife (2008 to 2013) and was the first chair of the board of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board from 1998 to 2008.

She joined ICD’s board in 2009 and serves on the governance and HR committee.
