Since EY introduced a new employee well-being portal in April, the site has had more than 7,000 page views and 1,500 users tracked.
The site, EY Live Well, was introduced to improve the well-being of employees and to make resources more readily available, says Kimberly Allen, total rewards leader at EY in Toronto.
“EY Live Well hosts pages relating to the three facets of well-being – physical, emotional and financial,” she adds. “Each facet has sub-pages providing information and resources relevant to these three areas.
“For example, the physical health page includes information on sun safety, healthy recipes and articles on sleep. There are also links to resources and programs offered by the firm, including the EY [flexible benefits plan] and the EY fitness benefit. Additionally, the ‘Get Involved’ page highlights internal and volunteer events taking place across the country.”

EY began communicating the new site to employees in January, through a national internal communications campaign that included weekly articles with a sidebar announcing that a new well-being site was “coming soon.” It continued to highlight various aspects of the site through a series of articles in the following months. On the launch date, physical postcards and laptop decals were given to every employee to further promote the site.
Since the site is still new, Allen says EY “will be able to better assess the impact on productivity, absenteeism and engagement in the long-term. However, we have received very positive feedback from staff. Many are happy to see all wellness-related information in one place.”
EY Live Well is accessible from a laptop, tablet or smartphone through the organization’s intranet site or externally so that employees can include their families.
