Former McKinsey executive joins Caisse

The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has appointed Andreas Beroutsos as executive vice-president, private equity and infrastructure. He replaces Normand Provost, who announced his plans to retire last year.

In this role, Beroutsos will oversee all private equity investment activities conducted outside Quebec.

Beroutsos was director and senior partner and member of the firmwide senior partner election committee at McKinsey & Company, where he established and managed the global private equity practice.

After 20 years with this firm, he became partner and senior managing director at Eton Park Capital Management. Until recently, he was partner and managing director at One Point Capital and managing partner at Navigos Capital in New York. Beroutsos was the founder of both firms.

The Caisse has also created the position of executive vice-president, Quebec. The person in this role will be in charge of managing the Caisse’s Quebec-based private equity investment portfolio.

Luc Houle, who has served as senior vice-president, private equity, and who has been with the Caisse for more than 30 years, has agreed to be the interim executive vice-president, Quebec, until the recruitment process has been finalized.

The process to recruit to fill this role on a full-time basis will be finalized over the next two to three months.

“With these changes, we will be even better equipped to reach our goals here in Quebec and in the world’s most promising markets,” says president and CEO Michael Sabia. “This new structure allows us to mobilize our teams based on two well-defined mandates and, more generally, to continue to enhance La Caisse’s standard of performance and depth of expertise.”
