The union representing about 1,100 Jazz Aviation employees has ratified a five-year collective agreement that includes pension enhancements and bereavement leave.
The agreement includes an additional employer contribution of one per cent to the defined contribution plan, effective Jan. 1, 2023, for employees with 15 years or more of service.
It also includes five days of bereavement leave and five personal days each year, plus two appointment days. Unused sick days from each calendar year can also be accumulated up to a maximum of 30 days.

“This new agreement will allow our members to continue to focus on providing outstanding service to Jazz Aviation,” says Tammy Moore, president of Unifor Local 2002. “Within the framework of this contract, Unifor was able to negotiate new language that provides improvements to members’ overall work-life balance, such as enhancements to personal care and bereavement leave.
“Additionally, retroactive wage increases were supplemented by lump-sum payments and an employee signing bonus.”
